Prague / Brno, 22 June 2026 – The Czech Republic has successfully hosted the fourth mission of Ukrainian partners focused on Smart Industry. The mission took place from 15 to 19 June 2026 and was organised by CzechInno with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. The primary objective of this important initiative was to introduce Ukrainian delegates to leading technological facilities and testbeds in Prague, Dolní Břežany and Brno, while fostering Czech-Ukrainian project and business cooperation.
Strong Representation from Ukrainian Industry and Academia
The mission brought together key experts and representatives of leading Ukrainian technology companies, industrial clusters and academic institutions. Delegates participating in the programme represented industrial associations and clusters, including the Ukrainian Cluster Alliance (UCA), the Association of Industrial Automation Enterprises of Ukraine (APPAU), and the Sumy Engineering Cluster of Energy Systems. The mission also involved representatives of academic institutions and EDIH projects, including EDIH “Kyiv Hitech”, the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, and Sumy State University, as well as individual Ukrainian companies such as IT-Enterprise, Imperatyv UA, MOTORIMPEX, Pryvatna Drukarnya, SkyAssist, SoftElegance, ITRetail Ltd and Vzuttya Podillya.
The study visit and cooperation activities build upon previously concluded agreements, namely the four-party Memorandum on Czech-Ukrainian cooperation in digital innovation signed in 2022 by APPAU, CzechInno, Industry Cluster 4.0 and the CyberSecurity Hub university institute, as well as the Czech-Ukrainian Memorandum on cooperation within EDIH projects signed in 2025.
From Diplomatic Welcome to Cutting-Edge Science
The mission commenced on Monday, 15 June, with the individual arrivals of participants from various regions of Ukraine. The following days featured an intensive programme focused on the exchange of technological know-how. On Wednesday, 17 June, delegates visited the AI Matters TEF testbeds at the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics (CIIRC CTU) in Prague, where presentations and practical training demonstrations took place. The delegation subsequently travelled to Dolní Břežany to visit the EDIH Brain4Industry testbeds.
Thursday’s programme was dedicated to Brno’s technological capacities. In the morning, participants visited the AI Matters TEF testbeds at CEITEC Brno University of Technology. This was followed by a presentation of training opportunities provided by the EDIH Cybersecurity Innovation Hub testbeds at CyberRangeCZ facilities. The day concluded with strategic discussions between the delegation and the mission organisers concerning upcoming areas of Czech-Ukrainian cooperation.
The mission was organised with strong governmental support. Travel expenses were covered under the PROPED 2026 project scheme, and the cooperation was supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic. The mission and the broader cooperation initiative aimed to deepen Czech-Ukrainian relations in the fields of advanced industrial technologies and cybersecurity and to further develop identified cooperation opportunities into joint Czech-Ukrainian projects.
Among the outcomes agreed upon was the involvement of Ukrainian participants in the AI Matters TEF project, which enables companies to test new technological solutions before making investment decisions. Prospective participation was also discussed in four Czech EDIH projects – EDIH Cybersecurity Innovation Hub, EDIH CTU, EDIH Brain4Industry and EDIH-DIGIMAT – which, in addition to technology testing services, also provide training and consultancy support.
The mission has become another milestone in the effective and highly promising cooperation between Czech and Ukrainian partners. In recent years, this cooperation has already resulted in initiatives such as the Cyber Jab project and state-supported business cooperation cases between Czech and Ukrainian companies, including the delivery of smart digital technology-based solutions designed to improve the safety of public spaces in Ukrainian cities.
